This pose is both calming and conducive for meditative, slow breathing, as well as being very healing in its own right. This pose stretches the back muscles and spine. It stimulates the kidneys, abdominal organs, urinary bladder and intestines and releases stress. If the knee is straightened, it stretches the hamstrings and strengthens the legs.
Twists are often taught as balms for sluggish digestion, low energy, stifled breathing, and a variety of muscle aches and pains. Best of all, they feel good from the inside out. Reclining Twist offers an opportunity to feel the power of wringing out the body from its core. It can improve breathing, ease back and neck tension, and soothe frazzled nerves. Its reclined position lets us linger in the posture's curves and spirals, inviting the twist to penetrate deep into the spine. This pose will leave you feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and rinsed clean.
How to do the supine pose:
While lying on your back, bend one knee and cross it outside of the opposite foot. Use your hand to put slight pressure on the bent knee to push down towards the floor. Keep both shoulders squared and rooted to the floor. Extend the opposite hand and gaze towards the hand. For a deeper stretch, start to straighten the bent knee. #Consciousvibrancy
Adults can make it seem like just because you’re young you don’t deserve to lead. Here’s the truth, age doesn’t determine your ability to lead. Age isn’t a requirement for leadership. Lead at any age. #truth
When I joined this entrepreneur game nearly 10 years ago I had no idea what I was in for. I mean, I knew there would be long nights, rough days, and LOTS to learn, but who knew it would be like this!?! Man, what a journey.
I've been nearly bankrupt a few times, had more money than I've dreamed of other times. I've been abandoned, told I'd never make it, but then honoroed with accolades and awards. I've made some really bad hiring decisions and put stock in a lot of wrong people. But on the flip side, I've also built an epic team that will take our brands to the next level.
What a rollercoaster! From laughing to crying and smashing things out of frustration to recovering and giving high-fives....business ownership is tough, especially when you are bootstrapping the entire way!
Truth is - this ain't for everyone. But if you dig deep, make yourself heavy, and remain humble, you might just succeed. .
“NOT GOOD ENOUGH” This is the message that my inner critic has been yelling at me my entire life. As I have finally been pulling myself out from that (with increasing success over the past few years), I have realized that social media can be quite damaging for me. @thehoganette wrote a beautiful post about this recently, and I cannot help but be inspired by it. It’s so easy to show others the best and most beautiful moments of our lives. And there is nothing wrong with that. But if we only share the good stuff, and shy away from sharing our flaws and insecurities, what are we saying? What impact does it have on others? What would happen if we let people in, not just for the cookie-cutter moments, but for the messiness as well? For me, I know that when I see authenticity that reveals both sides, the impact is astounding. I feel so encouraged and motivated when people that I respect and admire set an example that reminds me how: it’s ok to be human, to have flaws, to make mistakes. Because that’s life. All we can guarantee is this, right now. And I will contend for authenticity, from myself at the very least. So, here’s a photo of me on a day that I had a harder time even leaving my bed. I’m a mess, but I’m trying. Maybe that’s all I’ve got right now. And that’s ok. #self#selflove#selfcare#selfrespect#identity#flawsandall#truth#authenticity#honesty#messiness#beautyinthestruggle#canada#calgary#yyc
