you were for sure wondering yesterday why we have 13 Santa Clauses! And the answer is because it's actually a whole family with 13 little troll kids. And today #Giljagaur is coming. He's called "Gully-Gawk" in english and he hides in gullies and waits for an opportunity to sneak into the cowshed to steal some fresh milk ;) 🐄
So it's that time of year when I reflect upon my favorite photographic moments. This year, I'm not making a Top 10 list. Quite simply, it's too hard. Our list of things we did is simply amazing in retrospect. How amazing? Well... We explored the artic circle and danced under the northern lights, we climbed three volcanos, watched a cheetah hunt in the wild, gazed at the Milky Way over Mt. Kilamanjaro in Africa, stared a lion straight in his eyes in the wild, hiked the Alaskan and Canadian wilderness, explored ice caves beneath a glacier, river boated along Amazonian rivers in Brazil in search of jaguars, got stuck in an Amazonian rain storm, and I even learned Portuguese to name a few. But most of all, we enjoyed many days with our closest friends and family. I took many many photos. So many I could never share them all here. Here's one from Iceland back in April.
The moment I walked onto the beach at Jokulsarlon I was literally gobsmacked. Never had I seen a sight anything like it, yes I had seen plenty of photos of ice on the famous beach in Iceland. But this was crazy and so unexpected. The ice was stacked along the foreshore as far as the eye could see. From chunks the size of your fist to huge van sized blocks. I have a huge love of shooting seascapes at the best of times, so this was like opening the doors to willy wonkas chocolate factory! Black sand, glacial blue ice and a cracking sunset... what an incredible shooting experience and memory. Without a doubt one of my favourite moments of the year.
Odin, the Allfather of Gods is known to sometimes disguise himself as a hitchhiker. Perhaps you've even crossed paths with him at some point in your life. Read more about his story by reading the blog post! Link in bio!
Day 4 of Simbang Gabi.
Today's homily is about waiting. Some prayers are answered with a "yes", others - a "no". While some require waiting. Don't throw away your faith. Learn how to wait.
