Hey, How are you there? every day I have sent a prayer to God to send a good angel apparently there holding your hand. Thanks grandma, let me take care of your child now. Happy Birthday nenek.
Happy Birtday Sebung Surabaya.
Thank you for helping me to keep sailing.
Last week I had the pleasure of organising the first #LinkedInLocal of Scandinavia, together with these two gentlemen.
We had fun, people got to network and Max has a drink in his name.
What a legend.
Thanks for the great experience everyone, looking forward making this a usual thing of 2018.
'du kan ikke fang et my'
It translates directly to, 'You can not catch a mine'
But the English version is "Ner, Ner, Ner, Ner, Ner you can't catch me"
The Danish version has the exact same tonality
as the English which surprised me for some reason. 'Peek-a-boo' is the same.
You really have to know your audience
with both of these though.
As far as learning Danish is going this
sums up my experience pretty well.
I'm still learning vocabulary but my
implementation is sort of book ending
Like, hello and goodbye and then
hopefully, slowly making its way
into the middle when possible.
Like ordering coffee.
For a while it felt like I was faking
it until I realised that that's how
it should feel.
It's almost like acting.
I have to fake Danish-ness in the
same way as I might fake and Irish
accent on a night out.
You do that too right?
My ability to get to practise and
so ultimately get to interact in
Danish is 30% vocabulary and
Confidence to practise and then
hold my hand up when I'm out
of my depth.
It's an ongoing lesson in humility
that I'm slowly starting to enjoy.
Mostly because laughter is the
only way to not come across as
crazy every time.
New skills never don't feel like faking -
whether that's presenting, writing,
learning a new sport, going to the
gym, art - anything.
They all play like experience you
are watching yourself do from the
outside because total immersion
requires skill and skill cannot
emerge without practise.
