One day, you're going to think back on your life, to this part, right here, and how it is right now. You'll think of those friends, all those dirty bars you went to, the songs that were popular at the time that you and your best friends danced to every time it was playing, having to get up early for work after being way too drunk the night before. You'll remember hearing the tic toc of time telling you to hurry up, get your degree, get married, have kids, get a job with benefits; and you'll remember listening to it. You'll remember thinking once you had these things, it would be easier, and you would be happy. Well kids, easy doesn't equate to happy, and sometimes life is hard, but the hard things are worth it. Don't remember this time of your life as something you rushed through.

"Early morning light breaks through the gaps of Mt.Cook which yields a dazzling array of atmospheric light and color. It was rather difficult to take this shot because the wind was roaring at around 20-25 mph which made getting a steady shot a challenge. Thankfully the wind died down long enough to capture this picturesque scene." | a7R III | 16-35mm f/2.8 GM | 1/30 sec | IS0 80 | f/22 |
“It don’t take a whole day to recognize sunshine.” I’m talking about his bright yellow pancho, right? Well yes and no. I’m talking about his personality. It doesn’t take a long time to recognize what type of person someone is. Saturday was cold & snowy. I was strolling around the city for pleasure and found myself complaining more often than not, and then I crossed paths with this man. I watched him for about 20 minutes. He never even frowned! So humbly sweeping trash off a busy street while snow fell down. I wondered what ran through his mind. I wondered and still wonder what his life is like. I watched several people cross his path and some even asked for directions. He pleasantly and politely directed them all in the way they should go. As I turned and began walking down the sidewalk to leave, he looked at me and smiled and said “Hi, how are you doing?” Because of this interaction, I made a conscious effort to check myself when I was about to complain. It’s amazing how that works... I don’t believe in chance encounters. People I don’t even know have deep impacts on me. I remember most of the photos I’ve taken of people like this. I could talk for HOURS about every single person on the street I’ve taken a photo of. But anyway, he’s been on my mind since Saturday. I’ve looked at this photo over and over. I hope this man is well. I wish him well. I wish his family well. I hope he gets all he desires in life. All because he selflessly offered himself to others. It was genuine service. Not just because they asked, but because that’s who he is. I just know. If nobody noticed, I surely did. And he effected my day more than he knows. Don’t know him, but it’s all love. And guess what?! I SWEAR I #LoveYall
